Van Gogh

Recently we went to Canberra to see the art exhibition that featured the famous paintings by Masters. Of Goggin, Monet, Schubert and many others, Van Gogh’s were the most outstanding. No matter how many times you see the prints or replications of hs paintings, to see the piece of art where the brush strokes have been made by Van Gogh himself, is an out of the world experience. There is some magical attraction in his paintings…you can feel them breathing- they look so lively, and so surreal. I have never seen anything of that kind ever in my life. He had been quite bold in the use of colours as compared to his contemporaries, and he had not been all that precise with measures and metres of the paintings of that time, but he was absolutely incredible. I can not believe my luck to have been able to experience something like that! He was a pure genius, and me absolutely lucky!

Now that I have a whole new blog to myself, I just can’t think of anything to write about. And I thought I react this way only to a new ‘human’ acquaintance. I am shy at the first introduction, but little by little I overcome my shyness and start opening up. But come on man! this is just a blog…and not some crush of yours!?
Well, ok….I’ll try.
It’s easiest to talk about something that the other people in the world are least likely to know- I mean, besides your bowel movements. So, did you know about ‘cockscomb’ being used as an important spice in some of the Kashmiri dishes. Or that Kangroos can swim too. Well, that is something very interesting for me, because I just discovered it. On a sea ferry back from Tea Gardens to Nelson Bay last week, we passed a marshy Island. It was a very small one. we spotted a small Kangroo on it and our ferry halted for all of us to have a closer look at him. To my surprise that kangroo sprung in water and swam towards the shore. My happiness on seeing kangroo was brief, for it was suddenly overcome by shock and realisation of my own ignorance about such a thing.
